Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO I GET TO BIBLE BAPTIST?
We are located at the corner of Artesia Blvd & Normandie Ave directly North of Sam’s Club in Gardena. Just one block west from the ending of the 91 freeway. Click here for a map

WHAT CAN I EXPECT ON MY FIRST VISIT?
From the moment you pull into the parking lot, you’re likely to feel at home. Our parking team will direct you as you enter the campus. Then, our greeters will be waiting and ready to give directions or answer any questions you may have. As you enter the auditorium, you will receive a program for the morning service and a “Welcome” packet filled with information about the church. Feel free to sit wherever you would life and then just sit back, relax, and enjoy the service!

Most people attend the service at 9:30 where they enjoy the singing, music, and a challenging Bible message from our preacher. This service is a little over one hour in length. Following the service, there will be some donuts, coffee and refreshments prepared for your enjoyment. Also, at 11:00 there is a Bible Study class in a smaller group setting where you are invited to meet people and hear a teaching lesson applicable to your daily life. The best way to get to know people at Bible Baptist would be through these smaller group Bible Studies.

WILL I BE ASKED OF ANYTHING?
Everyone who attends Bible Baptist, receives a welcome packet that contains details and information about the church. As a part of the packet, there is a “Response Card.” It gets used for a lot of things like updating phone numbers, prayer request and other forms of contact. If you’re a guest, just fill out as much information as you feel comfortable with. Our Pastor would like to send some material about how Bible Baptist may be able to serve you.

AM I EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OFFERING?
No. We don’t invite you to Bible Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.

WHERE DO I TAKE MY CHILDREN?
You’ll find first-class programs for your children, from birth through 6th grade. For infants and toddlers a loving nursery is provided in a clean and safe environment. The nursery is located adjacent to the main auditorium behind the glass doors. For children in grades K-6, a kids Bible hour is a fun-filled, activity packed hour. Bible hour is located in the conference room and led by our Children’s Director. Also, If you choose to attend the Bible Study class at 11:00, your children can attend a Sunday School class designed just for their age, which will conclude at the same time the adult classes do.

WHAT ABOUT MY TEENS?
Most teenagers attend the morning worship service together with the adults. Then at 11:00 there is a Youth Service that is designed especially for 7th-12th graders where they will be challenged and encouraged from the Bible.

HOW SHOULD I DRESS?
There is not a dress code at Bible Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Bible Baptist!

WHAT IS BAPTISM AND MEMBERSHIP ALL ABOUT?
The Bible teaches that baptism is a symbol – an outward expression of an inward decision. In the life of every Christian, it is an important first step of obedience to God in which I declare, to others, my faith in Christ. As a wedding ring identifies a husband with his wife, so baptism identifies a Christian with Christ. That identity is in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.

Baptism is for anyone who has personally accepted Christ as Saviour. Once a person is baptized he/she is then added to the membership of the church. To become a member, one must be saved and baptized by immersion.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED IN THE MINISTRY?
Once a person receives Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, one of the natural desires that are developed through the Holy Spirit is a desire to serve others. Here at Bible Baptist we encourage every believer, whether new or a long time Christian to get involved within the ministry. On a volunteer basis, there are many opportunities that are provided. Each position requires one to be a member of the church followed by a brief interview and training before they are allowed to serve. Depending upon the responsibilities and roles of each position, requirements and commitments will vary. If you are interested in serving somewhere within the ministry, please contact a pastoral staff member.
